What's New for 2013
The 2013 Nissan GT-R receives a variety of minor updates. Nissan has upped the V6's horsepower and revised the transmission for smoother and quieter operation. Elsewhere, the GT-R gains revised suspension tuning, new gauge illumination and a handmade carbon-fiber rear spoiler for the Black Edition. Finally, a rearview camera is now standard on all models.Introduction
When you're at the top, there's rarely any room for improvement. But Nissan has managed to find some for the 2013 Nissan GT-R, albeit very little. An addition of 15 horsepower represents an output increase of less than 3 percent, but considering this supercar now makes an otherworldly 545 hp (up from 530 hp), moving the performance needle any degree should be applauded. Torque has also been increased from 448 pound-feet to 463.Applause is also warranted for other GT-R improvements that are new for 2013. The transmission has received a few mechanical adjustments, allowing it to operate more smoothly and quietly. Nissan says it also retuned the suspension for even more impressive road-holding.
These improvements will likely amount to little more than a few fewer tenths of a second in the time it takes a GT-R to lap a racetrack, but our initial driving impressions confirm that the 2013 Nissan GT-R does indeed feel quicker. Of course, average drivers will probably find the addition of a standard rearview camera and handmade carbon-fiber rear wing (for the Black Edition) more tangible improvements.
Even before all of these enhancements were made, the Nissan GT-R provided incredibly high levels of performance at a fraction of the cost of traditional exotics. With an intoxicating blend of high technology and brute power, it will likely remain an object of desire for driving enthusiasts everywhere. With the changes for 2013, the desire should actually be more intense, which will hopefully keep the GT-R in production for years to come." - http://www.edmunds.com/nissan/gt-r/2013/#fullreview
