The legend is back. After halting production of the NSX in 2005 after a 15-year reign and an adoring cult following, the 2013 Acura NSX, Acura’s latest reincarnation has a new look but still retains a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive setup. The Acura luxury brand of Honda group, used the Detroit Auto Show to promote the presentation of the 2013 Acura NSX Concept, which brings back a name revered by many super sports fans in the four corners of the planet. The design is one of the highlights of the 2013 Acura NSX concept car.
Without exaggeration of style, the 2013 Acura NSX material by the fluidity of its lines, which combine elegance and aggression in the right proportion. Not much should change to the 2013 Acura NSX hit the streets in Japan, what should happen in the coming years.
Like the original Acura NSX, which made history in 90 years, the new 2013 Acura NSX specs will feature a center-rear V6 engine with an output estimated at 406 hp. The 2013 Acura NSX could accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in under five seconds. Few additional details are known at this time as the 2013 Acura NSX production is not expected to begin until 2015.
The manufacturer has not released technical details about the 2013 Acura NSX, but rumors say that the vehicle will have hybrid drive, equipped with two electric motors – probably one on each axis. The 2013 Acura NSX transmission will have the dual-clutch technology and has an electric motor to improve acceleration figures.
We don’t mean to be hard on the 2013 Acura NSX concept. After all, the 2013 Acura NSX looks great–and even manages to look a bit like the original. But is the 2013 Acura NSX really a supercar? We wouldn’t even ask the question if it weren’t for Acura’s marketing materials tossing the term at us every third word.
Hybrid sports car? Hybrid grand tourer? Hybrid performance vehicle? Yep, these are valid. But supercar? With an estimated 400 horsepower from a 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired with a hybrid system, and a focus on light weight (says Acura), the 2013 Acura NSX could well be a very high-performance car, hybrid or not but to classify anything in the 400-horsepower range that weighs more than 2,000 pounds or so as a supercar seems a stretch.
The 2013 Acura NSX physics just won’t let it reach the mid-three-second 0-60 mph range or blistering 60-120 mph acceleration that justify the appellation. All of that aside, we’re excited about the new 2013 Acura NSX concept, and we’re looking forward to seeing it on the streets–and to hopping behind the wheel–whether it’s a supercar or not.
2013 Acura NSX On Super Bowl
$33,000 is the listed value for the 2013 Acura NSX price, available in March of 2012. The five-passenger 2013 Acura NSX will be built at Honda’s plant in East Liberty, Ohio while the old version has been built in Marysville, Ohio. Look at these 2013 Acura NSX wallpaper, the exterior incorporates a sleek, more aerodynamically efficient body, changing from the appearance of a compact SUV.
You’ve got to give the Acura some props here; the brand has never made it to the Super Bowl but that’s all about to change thanks to Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno and the delicious revival of their flagship talismanic sports car, the 2013 Acura NSX Concept. If ‘go big or go home’ is the right approach to Super Bowl marketing, Acura should score a touchdown with their 2013 Acura NSX advert.
